An innovative leader in poultry breeding is seeking a Project Manager to expand Dual Purpose Poultry (DPP) initiatives across Africa. This position involves collaborating with customers to establish sustainable projects, offering technical and commercial support, and managing grant-related activities.

The role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in poultry, financial acumen, and the ability to build and maintain cross-cultural relationships.

Responsibilities:

Customer Support:

  • Guide customers in defining project objectives.
  • Deliver comprehensive training and guidance to ensure successful production and sales launches while establishing a foundation for long-term project sustainability.
  • A critical focus will be on supporting the sale of chicks to brooding units and equipping clients with the necessary skills to raise the birds effectively.
  • Tailored training sessions on best practices, continuous mentoring, and proactive troubleshooting to ensure optimal growth and performance in both production and sales operations.
  • Implement field action plans and KPIs to ensure project success.

Market and Product Expertise:

  • Monitor market trends, competition, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to refine and enhance product offerings.
  • Assist clients in growth planning and organizing site visits for strategic development.

Financial Oversight:

  • Reporting on budgets, ensuring alignment with expectations.
  • Contribute to sales growth through innovative financial strategies.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical: Knowledge of poultry production (training provided), financial management, and project frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: Effective communication, adaptability, problem-solving, and team collaboration.
  • Language: Fluent English. Speaking French, Portuguese, or regional dialects (e.g., Kiswahili, Wolof) are a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the poultry industry with a focus on broiler breeders.
  • Willingness to travel across Africa (70%) and relocate if necessary.
